Best Male 1 was the international pick in which both day's RES-CACIB changed to CACIB and transferred to Naka.
This year in Seinäjoki included two judge changes, Marjo Nygård (black and black-silver) and Tomas Rohlin, Denmark (white and pepper-salt) and the debut of young Luna who had a fine day.

All good things come to an end and now it's time for Ṻberdorfs Heikkone ”Hessu” to leave it to the younger generation. For 6 years there have been many failures and many triumphs. It's on to retirement for the older but healthy gentleman.
Time flies by - this year, ten years ago, the first litter was registered under the Dumond name. 2 males and 3 females came into the world. Now this quintet passes the time away in retirement at home, scratching away all day long.

In Ukmerge, Lithuania the standard two rooms - one bathroom setup awaited us. This is always a potential horror story. Fortunately, our fears were alleviated as we were treated to clean and free facilities.
In Narva, Estonia, deluxe rooms with saunas awaited us. Our hosts were even kind enough to inform us to not bring a broom into the sauna.
This show marks the end of the 2017 Summer Show circuit.

After a long Saturday in sunny Espoo, I was exhausted. Johanna, the girls and the cousins attended a Match show in the Pori neighborhood of Toejoki.
Plenty of awards to go around for the participants Junnu, Saana, Lumi and the toy dog.
On a green, warm and sunny day this year's show at Marketta Park in Espoo, judges Astrid and Peter Schön from Germany.
This was the debut show for young Lumi.

In mid-March we took Li (Crazy Girl Grasant) to on a traditional trip abroad and dog show.
This year we were in Tallinn. This year was differet as Jussi joined us. This is first and finally dog show for some time.

Our dogs' veterinarian, Sirpa, was featured in the latest Eruajoki newsletter. Eurajoki and Luvia just merged and a good way to celebrate the birth of the new municipality is to feature local business, services and the people who work in them.

Saana, Satu and Tarka arranged a show grooming seminar with featured i-Groomer Nadja Leino. The course was in two-parts: Saturday was miniature schnauzer grooming theory - trimming, tools, conditioning and plucking. Sunday's lineup was finishing, clean up, clipper and scissor work.
Kennel Dumond has now become a mother/daughter operation.
It's good to get a younger prespective on dog matters.
For this show I went to Estonia via boat from the new boat company, Eckerö Line. I was satisfied with their services and their staff was friendly and spoke Finnish.

Our Grand Old Lady Penni (Tiffany Astronaut) turns 11 years old today.
Penni is doing great. She goes for daily walk and eats well. Her hearing has gotten weaker... or it could be selective hearing. She has been an easy dog with very few problems. She has been rather healthy and in little need of medication. It's time to sing Happy Birthday to honor this old lady.
Hopefully, we will be wishing Penni many, many more Happy Birthdays.
We left a a trip to Latvia with two of our juniors, Li and Naka!

It was nice to see Taru, Elina, Veera, Markus, Johanna, Petra, Amanda, Aleksandra and the dogs: Into, Isla and Kida. These pictures will tell the tale.
The second day in Estonia began warm - warmer than te day before. By the night it was snowing.
The young men in the group were full of energy and ready to go but, little Li (9 mos.) was beat. However she doesn't know how to relax and was at it again the following day at the hotel.
Regardless of who was up and who was down, this day belonged to Petra and Siina. They were great.
